Lit by mom 18th January 2014
I light 25 candles every night for my son James. (It was 24 candles but on October 2, 2013 he would have been 25 years of age). The candles represent his age and sometime I may light more candles. I made a promise or a dedication to James to light candles for 1 year from the date of his death at the place where he died (inotherwords eternal light for one year from the date of his death or until Zach came home). I kept this site clean, a placed real flowers which I watered or replaced when the flowers were dying. I but a little fence around the candles to prevent them from falling or rolling in the street and causing a hazard. I made sure that Los Angeles County had access to their utility box where this candles and floors were placed. These flowers and candles did not block the sidewalk yet on the 9 month anniversary (1/6/13) a Los Angeles official left me a citation to remove my memorial. I had only 3 more months to go to fulfill my promise/dedication of eternal light for my son. The City of Los Angeles cited me with violating 56.8 (obstructing a sidewalk or leaving debrie). If you have ever visited the site, the site was always clean, actually pretty to look at, never any debrie and never obstructed the sidewalk. It was not even a fire hazard because I did everything to make it look nice and not be a hazard to the public. Why could they not wait 3 more months. I recently attached new pictures that says last photos. This is not true. I am now going to attach a new and very last photo of the site that was taken by Jasmine and Zach. I love both of you so much. James is loved so much. Babe (James) - I have not stopped lighting candles for you. Your eternal light will continue at home and will continue for as long as I live. Love you babe. I think about every day, all day. I sooooo miss you. I look forward to seeing you soon.
This candle went out on 28th February 2015.
