Dodger - 1988-2013 World Series

This is not a memory but a note about history. James is a "die hard" Dodger fan. He never missed watching or attending a Dodger game. He was fortunate to watch the Dodgers numerous times at the ground level, behind homeplate, first base and third base even though he would also watch the dodgers in any seat. He knew all the stats and history of the Dodger. He obtained all kinds of Dodger memorabilia(sp) as he grew up and especially in the last couple of years when he was old enough to purchase them himself. When he was young we would go the stadium way before the game started so he could watch the Dodgers warm up and occasionally, he would get balls autographed and he even had a dodger cap autographed by the whole team. James never gave up hoping that he would see and attend the dodgers winning the "world series". It saddens me that James missed seeing his team this year making it to the National League Championship and competing to play at the World Series. His dad went to the playoff games in his place. The Dodgers missed playing the "World Series" by one game. I am sad but I am also happy for James. I don't want to have to remember by son as the "die hard" Dodger fan who was born in 1988 when the Dodgers won the "World Series" and waited all his life and died the same year the Dodgers won the "World Series" and he missed seeing his dream come true.
